INDUCTION PATHWAYS:  These pathways are for individuals who have less than three years of successful teaching experience.  Induction Pathway certificates are valid for three years.  A Standard Renewal teaching document can be obtained without completing three years of successful teaching wits and completing any other requirements outlined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. https://www.gapsc.com/ProspectiveEducator/routesToInitialCertification.aspx   Induction Pathway 1:  This pathway is for individuals who have completed a traditional educator preparation program in the state of Georgia and met all of the assessments required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.  Induction Pathway 2:  This pathway if for individuals who have completed an out of state educator preparation program including your field experiences in the state of Georgia and passed all of the assessments required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (outlined below).Well-constructedundertow in Identifying and Educating Exceptional Children Passing score on edTPA is required for those who completed student teaching on or after                 September 1, 2015 Passing score on the GACE Educator Ethics ExitTowage(GACE 360) PSCWitsVerification form completed for any certified wits earned in state or out of state by school system in which the wits was earned.   Induction Pathway 3:  This pathway is for individuals who have completed an out of state educator preparation program including student teaching and field experiences in flipside state.  You must have met all of your state assessments required by the professional licensing department of the state you earned your stratum and certification.  Georgia Professional Standards requirements required for Standard Renewal certification are outlined below.Well-constructedundertow in Identifying and Educating Exceptional Children Passing score on the GACE Educator Ethics ExitTowage(GACE 360) Earned less than one year of winning out-of-state wits within five years of receiving your Induction document and you completed the student teaching or clinical practice component of your educator preparation program on or without September 1, 2015, a passing score on a GaPSC-accepted content pedagogy towage or an winning substitute will be required for conversion to a Professional document or reissuance of the Induction certificate. If a state content towage was not required for the out of state document or if you did not pass your required out of state assessments then you will be required to pass the GACE Content Assessment.  If you passed the out of state assessment, but you are not worldly-wise to provide a reprinting of your official score report then you will be required to pass the GACE ContentTowagePSCWitsVerification form completed for any certified wits earned in state or out of state by school system in which the wits was earned.   Induction Pathway 4:  This pathway is a provisional pathway for individuals who desire to wilt an educator who have earned a bachelor’s stratum or higher, but the stratum is not in education.   Qualifications for this pathway are: A bachelor's stratum or higher. If your highest stratum is a bachelor's stratum and it was earned less than 10 years prior to the stage of application, you must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5. If you do not, you may still qualify by submitting proof of visa into a GaPSC-accepted educator preparation program; Passing score on the GACE Program Admission Assessment, or exemption. GACE scores are transmitted electronically to the GaPSC, but an exemption must be documented by an official score report for an eligible exam; To exempt one of the pursuit qualifying scores is required:  SAT-1000 or higher combined scores of Verbal/Critical Reading and Math; ACT – 43 or higher combined scores of English and Math; GRE 1030 or higher surpassing August 1, 2011 on Verbal and Quantitative; GRE 297 without August 1, 2011 on Verbal and Quantitative Induction level or higher passing score on the towardly GACE content assessment. These scores are transmitted electronically to the GaPSC; As of January 1, 2015, a passing score on the Georgia Educator EthicsTowage- Program Entry (Test Code 350). This score is moreover transmitted electronically to the GaPSC; In order to convert to any other Induction Pathway or a Professional certificate, you must well-constructed all the requirements of a state-approved educator preparation program and all workable Special Georgia Requirements. If you well-constructed the student teaching or clinical practice component of your educator preparation program on or without September 1, 2015, a passing score on edTPA, the GaPSC-approved content pedagogy towage will be required for conversion to any other Induction Pathway or a Professional certificate. OUT OF STATE EDUCATORS: Educators holding out of state certificates need the pursuit to wield for Georgia certification: Hold a valid professional out of state document Copies of state certification assessments (See below) Scores printed from an online educator worth will not be wonted unless they are publicly verifiable. If you are unable to reap official score reports, please ask the certification office in your state to write an official letter verifying the name and stage of the certification assessments you passed. Official Transcripts from all colleges/universities attended PSCWitsVerification form- verify the most recent years of educator wits within the last five years from the stage of the using for Georgia certification. INTERNATIONAL EDUCATORS: Educators from a foreign country need the pursuit to wield for Georgia certification: Foreign Credential Report which includes English translations and information showing detailed, course-by-course evaluations and towardly U.S. stratum equivalency. The foreign credential report MUST be an self-sustaining review prepared by an organ tried by the GaPSC.  https://www.gapsc.com/MovetoGeorgia/FromOutSideUSA/foreignCredentialReports.aspx Passing GACE ContentTowagefor the area/subject you plan to teach Any Special Georgia Requirements the PSC requires to be met:  https://www.gapsc.com/Certification/SpecialGeorgiaRequirements.aspx CERTIFICATION RENEWAL: Decision Tree for retired educators, non-employed educators, educators with expired certificates or those with valid certificates needing guidance for renewal:  https://www.gapsc.com/ProspectiveEducator/BecomeCertified.aspx Professional certificates expiring 2018 or after:Well-constructedProfessional Learning Goals or Professional Learning Plans Completion on any outstanding Georgia Special Requirements that were outlined when initial certification was issued Must be employed with a school system An educator who has received any combination of 2 Unsatisfactory, Ineffective, or Needs Development yearly performance evaluations in the previous 5-year document validity period may not receive a renewable document until the performance deficiencies have been satisfactorily remediated. Professional certificates expired 2011 – 2017: No renewal credit (coursework) is required to renew these certificates.  The PSC waived the credits to renew from 2011-2017. Completion of any outstanding Georgia Special Requirements that were outlined when initial certification was issued. Must be employed with a school system CERTIFICATION RENEWAL CONTINUED: Professional certificates expired 2010 or earlier: Earn 10 PLUs OR 6 higher semester hours OR 10 higher quarter hours OR 10 CEU units within 5 years of the stage of renewal.  Credits earned must be from a PSC tried program or institution Coursework must be “C” or largest One year of winning out of state educator wits within 5 years of the stage of renewal.  This must be documented on the PSCWitsVerification form.  Valid Nation Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) certification.  Valid Master Teaching Certification For some service fields, valid state or national licensure as outlined in the specific rule for that field. Completion of any Special Georgia Requirements Employed by a school system. CERTIFICATION UPGRADES: The Georgia Professional Standards Commission has ripened a tool for educators to use to verify if the institution and program are winning for an upgrade.  The system will cross-reference the educator’s current certification and the information from the program and institution to inform the educator if the higher stratum will lead to an upgrade.  https://www.gapsc.com/Commission/Policies_guidelines/UpgradeUtility/Upgrade_Initial.aspx   ADDING A NEW FIELD TO YOUR CERTIFICATE: The Georgia Professional Standards Commission requires passing the towardly GACE, completing an endorsement program or in some cases passing the required GACE and completing a certification program to add a new field to an educator’s current certificate. Most fields of certification can be widow to your current teaching document with testing with the exception of Early Childhood Education.  The Georgia Professional Standards Commission requires an educator to well-constructed a certification program and pass the GACE for Early Childhood Education to add Early Childhood to current teaching certificate. A service field or Educational Leadership cannot be widow with testing to a teaching document and a teaching field cannot be widow to a service or Educational Leadership document with testing.  An educator must well-constructed a certification program for the field and testing to add the field to the certificate.
